Efficacy decline in Covid vaccine
Scientists from the University of Oxford say that after four to five months, the level of protection offered by both Pfizer and Astra Zenika vaccines is similar but the efficacy of the Pfizer product declines more rapidly.
The findings suggest that those infected with the Covid19 Delta variant after their second dose had similar peak levels of virus to unvaccinated people.
Based on their work, the researchers said that although jabs did not eliminate the chances of getting Covid-19, they did reduce the risk of death.
