Bass Coast Shire Stuffs up again

 Bass Coast Shire is at it again! Councillors and senior staff have no idea about their legal obligations or planning law. The Shire participated in a webinar set up by the Victorian National Parks Association on behalf of a handful of individuals calling themselves Save Westernport WoodlandsT he purpose of the webinar was to promote claims that the Shire’s proposed planning overlay was needed to protect the woodland. The native vegetation on public land is already fully protected as a result of the actions of the Grantville community and South Gippsland Conservation Society in successfully lobbying the State Government to develop and implement an effective sand extraction strategy for the region. After lengthy research and consultation The State Government gazetted the Regional Sand Extraction Strategy, Lang to Grantville which identified and protected the wildlife corridor which some now refer to as a biolink.
