The potential for Losing seats may bring Governments to their senses - but only if voters wake up!

 The loss of a Conservative party seat in a By election in the UK should not have been a surprise to the Government. It’s likely that similar things will happen here, given the political handling of the Covid pandemic.It’s not the virus that has caused chaos in the community, it has been the ill-judged responses of the various Governments and bureaucrats which ripped apart families,businesses and communities.Helen Morgan, who won a seat from the Conservatives for the Iiberal Democrats said There is a general sense of empty promises, a lot of hot air and nothing ever really tangibly happening on the ground." Given our relative population size, the Australian community has been hit far harder than residents ofmany other countries but here there is generally meek compliance with political directives. Hopefully people will eventually come to their senses.

Bass Coast Councillors should be personally liable for their mistaken decision

  Bass Coast Shire councillors should be held personally liable for any costs resulting from their decision to reject an application by Heidelberg Materials to widen Stanley Road, Grantville, It seem likely that ratepayers will face a huge bill to defend Councillors’ decision at VCAT. The road widening has long been a requirement of the planning permit previously issued by the Shire and was approved by Shire planning staff as well as DEECA. Rather than make ratepayers foot the bill, councillors who refused the planning application should be personally liable. All councillors other than Jan Thompson, who had the sense to vote for the application should pay every cent.
